💡 Kitchen Hack of the Week: Freeze Your Pumpkin!

Here’s a little pumpkin-season PSA:

Don’t let the leftover pumpkin in your refrigerator become a science experiment. 😂

If you open a can of pumpkin for a recipe and don’t use it all, scoop the leftovers into 1/4- or 1/2-cup portions and freeze them.

A freezer bag or the Tastefully Simple silicone bar pan works great!

Then you’ve got perfectly portioned pumpkin ready to go for:

🎃 Pancakes
🎃 Muffins
🎃 Oatmeal
🎃 Smoothies
🎃 Soup
🎃 Your next baking project

Pumpkin today = pumpkin tomorrow!

It’s a tiny little habit, but it’s one of those kitchen tricks that can save food, save money, and make future-you’s life a little easier.

And we all know I’m a fan of anything that helps future-you. ❤️

❤️ What’s Happening in Cathy’s Kitchen

This past weekend, I did something completely outside my comfort zone.

I played in my FIRST EVER euchre tournament! 🃏

And yes…I was nervous.

I mean, there are people who have been playing euchre forever, and then there’s me, showing up to my first tournament wondering exactly what I had gotten myself into. 😂

But I brought a little Howlin’ Horseradish BLT Dip to share, took a deep breath, and jumped in.

And you know what?

Everyone was SO kind and helpful.

Nobody expected me to be an expert. They helped me along, laughed with me, and made it FUN.

And no…I wasn’t first.

But I wasn’t last either! 😂

And honestly?

I had a blast.

It reminded me of something I’ve thought about a lot since starting my Tastefully Simple business.

When I first got started, I didn’t really know what I was doing either.

I had to learn.

I had to try things.

I had to be willing to put myself out there and occasionally feel a little uncomfortable.

And just like that euchre tournament, I discovered that there are some really wonderful people on the other side of that nervousness.

People who are willing to help.

People who cheer you on.

People who make trying something new feel a whole lot less scary.

So here’s your little Cathy’s Kitchen reminder this week:

You don’t have to know exactly what you’re doing to give something new a try.

You just have to be willing to play the first hand. 😉

Maybe it’s a new recipe.

Maybe it’s a new hobby.

Maybe it’s meeting some new people.

Maybe it’s something that has been sitting in the back of your mind for a while because you’re not sure you’re “ready.”

Give it a try.

You might surprise yourself.

And you might just have some fun along the way. ❤️
