Summer dinners can be…well…interesting.
One kid wants hot dogs.
One wants fruit.
Someone suddenly “doesn’t like” the vegetable they’ve eaten for years.
If you’ve got a picky eater (or had one!), this week’s blog is for you.
Because sometimes the biggest victories happen one bite at a time.
And as always…
Good food is meant to be shared. π
π§ Favorite TS Product This Week:
Seasoned Salt

If I could only keep one seasoning in my pantry…
This might be it.
Seasoned Salt is my secret weapon for making everyday vegetables just a little more exciting.
My favorites?
π½ Fresh corn on the cob
π₯ Roasted potatoes
π₯¦ Broccoli
π₯ Carrots
π Homemade fries
Sometimes all it takes is a little extra flavor to turn a “No thanks!” into a “Can I have more?”
Simple.
Versatile.
And always within arm’s reach in my kitchen.
π½οΈ Summer Hack of the Week:
Not Your Mama’s “No Thank You Bite”
One of the questions I get asked all the time is:
“How did you get your kids to try new foods?”
Here’s the tradition that has been in our family since my son was just 2 years old.

We call them “No Thank You Bites.”
The rule was simple:
You eat the number of bites that matches your age.
π¦ Age 5? Five bites.
π§ Age 10? Ten bites.
π§ Age 18? Yep…18 bites!
And believe it or not…
When my son was 18 years old, he actually looked at me one night and said,
“Can I just eat my No Thank You Bites?”
Of course, my answer was YES!
After dinner, if they truly still didn’t want what was served, they were always welcome to make themselves a sandwich before dessert.
No battles.
No pressure.
Just a simple family tradition that encouraged trying new foods while respecting that everyone has different tastes.
It worked beautifully for our family, and maybe it’ll become a tradition in yours too. π
π¬ A Moment from Cathy’s Kitchen
I have a little confession…
One of my favorite rainy-day summer traditions has absolutely nothing to do with grilling or the pool.
I’m a sucker for Christmas in July. π
If there’s a Hallmark Christmas movie on while it’s raining outside, chances are you’ll find me curled up with a cozy blanket, something delicious in the kitchen, and pretending it’s December for just a little while.

Maybe it’s because I love traditions.
Or maybe it’s because both Christmas and summer remind me of the same thing…
The people around the table matter more than what’s on it.
As we head into the second half of July, I’m looking forward to making more memories, trying new recipes, and yes…probably watching a few more Christmas movies before the snow ever falls. π
π¬ I’d Love to Hear from You!
Now it’s your turn…
What’s one food your child absolutely refused to eat… until one day they suddenly decided they loved it?
Or maybe they’re still holding out! π
Hit reply to this email or leave a comment on the blog. I always love hearing your family storiesβand who knows, your idea might just help another family around the dinner table.
After all, the best kitchen tips aren’t just found in recipes… they’re shared from one family to another. π
